Welcome to Steve Harvey
Counselling & Psychotherapy
I have been working with and in service of others for most of my adult life, as a learning and development professional, a coach, mentor and therapist. But, as I reflect on my career over the last 40 years, I have always had a calling to work with people at a deep, very personal, perhaps spiritual level, to help co create the conditions for a therapeutic healing relationship to emerge. I invite you to begin your journey with me.
How will I work with you?

In the words of E.E. Cummings, ‘It takes courage to grow and become who you really are’ and I have found that growing and developing a sense of who we truly believe we are, in relation to our past, our families, friends and others is a life long endeavour.

I will work with you collaboratively, compassionately and sensitively to create, a deep, equitable, non-judging and trusting relationship, that is the heart of all successful therapy.

Of course, the challenge can be that if, through our life experience, we have come to believe we are not deserving of love and respect, then our relationships can become emotionally unhealthy for us, as we leave it to others to decide whether we are worthy or not.

It is my belief that when we can learn to practice self-love and to raise our self-esteem we finally realise that we are deserving of love and respect. That each and every one of us is more than good enough.

I hope you can take comfort from the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, that ‘the only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be’.

I cannot thank enough for your care and support. Thank you so much and God bless you and what you do

It was lovely going on the journey with Steve, he was an amazing councillor and really gave me space to discover what I needed to. I have benefited tremendously, I feel like a new person. I have dealt with so much that I had been avoiding for years – it was hard but it feels amazing to have gone through the process and come out the other end.
Craig - Edinburgh
I’ve experienced Steve as thoughtful, humorous, genuine, committed, prepared to be vulnerable, open, compassionate, warm, spiritual, giving of himself and committed to “being” with me in our time together
